Sharing, or threatening to share, intimate images without consent is a crime.
Report
The police recognise intimate image abuse, sometimes called ‘revenge porn’ or ‘the non-consensual sharing of intimate images as a serious form of abuse. Report someone sharing or threatening to share an intimate image without consent by calling 101 or in an emergency phone 999.
You can report non-consensually shared intimate images online if it happens on a social network as well as reporting the incident to the police. This can help get an image removed. Find out how to report abuse on:
If you are in severe distress and are thinking about harming yourself, call 999 immediately.
- If you are over 18 you can go to Stop NCII (Non-Consensual Intimate Image Abuse) and report it using a free tool which helps to detect and remove intimate images from being shared online.
- If you are under 18 you can go to Report Remove | Childline and confidentially report sexual images and videos of yourself and remove them from the internet.
