Hate has no home here, everyone in Scotland has the right to live their lives without fear of being attacked because of their age (from 1 April 2024), disability, race, religion, sexual orientation, transgender identity or variations in sex characteristics.
Hate hurts. Hate crime has a devastating impact on victims, their families and communities. We must all play our part to challenge it.

Action on Prejudice
A central place for young people and youth workers to find information about prejudice, discrimination and hate but also specific youth services for young people facing hate crime.
Age Scotland
Advisors provide information and advice on a range of topics including organisations and services that are unfamiliar to you. They also provide friendship for when you just need a friendly chat.

If you think you might have been treated unfairly and want further advice this support service assists individuals on issues relating to equality and human rights.
Free Representation (Scotland)
There is some free representation available in Scotland for tribunals and courts. It is only available for certain cases and for people on a low income. It is only available through a Citizens Advice local office.
Glasgow Disability Alliance
Acts as a third-party reporting centre – contact GDA to report any harassment, hate crime or hate incident you have experienced or witnessed.

Support for victims of domestic abuse, forced marriage and honour based abuse.

While they do not provide a helpline or one-to-one family support, respectme can provide practical advice and guidance on dealing with bullying behaviour.

A charity that provides independent and confidential support to people affected by Hate Crime through their 24 hour helpline.

Victim Support Scotland
Victim Support Scotland provides information, practical help, emotional support and guidance through the criminal justice system. They run a webchat service on their website which from 8am to 8pm, Monday to Friday and 9am –to 1pm on Saturday.
